Welcome & Introductions:
Call to order:  Karen Osbrey called the meeting to order at 8:35 AM
Special presentation: The students from Putnam Science Academy thanked the Putnam Business Association for their time and support of their robotics program.  Invited everyone to a presentation at the school.
October 12, 2011 Minutes:    Minutes will be reviewed and voted on at the next meeting in December.
Treasurer’s Report:  Barbara Goloski gave Treasurers report with a correction from the previous report as the excel program being used was not calculating correctly. …

 
                    James Martin, executive chef/owner of 85 Main in downtown Putnam, has been nominated for the Connecticut Restaurant Association’s 2011 “Chef of the Year” award. 
                    Along with Martin, the finalists for Chef of the Year include Scott Miller from Max’s Oyster Bar in West Hartford and Kevin Long from Shrine at Foxwoods. 
                   While holding a great deal of respect for his fellow nominees, Martin says that Miller and Long work with the corporate advantages of “culinary teams and marketing directors to make sure every move is guided correctly.” As for …

After a successful first year in 2011, the PBA’s First Friday Committee is already hard at work planning First Friday events for 2012 and is looking for enthusiastic volunteers from the PBA and the public at large to fill its various subcommittees. Seats are available on the following subcommittees:
1. Logistics
2. PR/Marketing
3. Fundraising
4. Entertainment
5. Outreach

The Hartford Marathon Foundation is coming to Putnam!

Thanks to the efforts of James and Sheila Frost, owners of the Courthouse Bar & Grille, the HMF will be coming to town on Sunday, March 11, 2012 for the first ever O’Putnam 5K.
The O’Putnam 5K will be one of over 50 runs, triathlons and duathlons put on by the HMF in 2012. For more information about the Hartford Marathon Foundation, you can visit:

Accept no substitutes! The OFFICIAL Great Pumpkin weighed in at a whopping 1,047 pounds and was grown by Putnam’s very own Gene Lariviere. Something tells us Gene is going to be serving more than a few pumpkin pies this Thanksgiving!
