James Martin, executive chef/owner of 85 Main in downtown Putnam, has been nominated for the Connecticut Restaurant Association's 2011 "Chef of the Year" award. Along with Martin, the finalists for Chef of the Year include Scott Miller from Max’s Oyster Bar in West Hartford and Kevin Long from Shrine at Foxwoods. Special presentation: The students from Putnam Science Academy thanked the Putnam Business Association for their time and support of their robotics program. Invited everyone to a presentation at the school.

The Hartford Marathon Foundation is coming to Putnam!
Thanks to the efforts of James and Sheila Frost, owners of the Courthouse Bar & Grille, the HMF will be coming to town on Sunday, March 11, 2012 for the first ever O’Putnam 5K.
